The Best Place in the World

Staying home is such a blessing. When you are out, running errands or taking classes or any for any reason, you can not relax. You must behave appropriately to your environment and stay alert to danger, more so than you have to when you are at home. When you are home, you can choose your activity, work, play or both, and your energy level. You can plan future days or do nothing at all.
Raul just reminded me that everything I just told you, is only true when I feel relaxed. When I am tired or sad or bored or stressed, I usually prefer to be out, at the mall or at the lake, anywhere except home. When the house is very dirty and the laundry is overflowing and I am overwhelmed with a busy schedule or sickness, there is no telling where I would rather be. It will probably be home, if I am out, or I would rather be out if I am stuck in the drudgery of housework with out pacing myself. Really, the best place is at the feet of Jesus, trusting him to get me through another day.

God's World Keeps Turning

When I was a little girl, one of my favorite songs was

The trees are gently
swaying, swaying, swaying.
The trees are gently swaying,
telling of God's great love.

The birds are sweetly
singing, singing, singing.
The birds are sweetly singing,
telling of God's great love.

The flowers are gently
nodding, nodding, nodding.
The flowers are gently nodding,
telling of God's great love.

Sure 'nuff, this morning when I opened my curtains, it was true. The trees are pines, the birds are chickens and the flower is a little wild yellow trumpet flower on the muscadine vine trellis. The chickens are pecking in the dirt out there and it looks like it might rain.  I slept in this morning, because I only have to go to parent/teacher conferences at 9:20, instead of taking the girls to school.

Praise the Lord

Pastor Karl wanted us to spend a whole week giving thanks to God with out asking Him for anything. I did say thank you more often than I normally do, but it is vital to have God's aid when someone is sick or has problems. It just felt wrong not to ask God for help, sinful even. I felt the stakes are too high to miss any opportunities to seek His mighty power in the lives of people around me that need Him so much.

I do have many blessings though. Most of my family is well. I attended an inspirational tea party with wonderful food and friendship. My aunt and uncle took Levi and I to give health and spiritual literature to the
choctaw people in Philadelphia yesterday. Raul built me a new bedroom and bathroom.
soon we are going to paint it with an ocean theme. Levi seems to be feeling better after sleeping all afternoon. Only seven more weeks until school is out. Sophie and Elena have enjoyed and done very well at Community Christian school this year. I have a big, wonderful family. I have lots of wonderful friends.
i have wonderful pets. God is a wonderful, all powerful God.
